💰 Michigan HVAC Rebates & Tax Credits (2026)

Which utility rebates apply depends on where you live:

  • DTE Energy (serves Detroit and Southeast Michigan) — Central AC rebates range from $100–$300 based on efficiency. High-efficiency furnace rebates are also available for DTE natural gas customers.
  • Consumers Energy (serves western/central Michigan) — Offers separate rebates for qualifying furnaces and air conditioners; you can apply for both if you replace your full system.

Note on federal tax credits: The federal 25C Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit — which previously offered up to $2,000 for qualifying equipment — expired December 31, 2025, and does not apply to systems installed in 2026 or later.
